Through a battle of giants between Hamilton and Verstappen, the British won the race.
Before the Race
During the formation lap, the Red Bull car from Sergio Perez suddenly switched off, making the race to have a new formation lap, luckily the Mexican was able to switch on his car again and go to the pit to start his race from there.
Hamilton won, but not without a fight at the end with Verstappen, who arrived in 2nd, the Dutchman almost made it, it was a great battle to watch. Valtteri Bottas finished just in 3rd, ahead of Lando Norris in 4th and just ahead of Sergio Perez in 5th, the Mexican driver who started from the pit lane, did a great race and was elected driver of the day, well done Checo!
Charles Leclerc did a solid race and finished in 6th with his Ferrari, in front of Daniel Riccardo, who is now racing for McLaren, finishing in 7th, ahead of the Monégasque teammate, Carlos Sainz in 8th and the rookie Yuri Tsunoda from Japan finished in 9th, the first Japanese driver to debut in F1 within the points range, just ahead of Lance Stroll in 10th, for Aston Martin.
The race itself was exciting, seeing Perez passing one by one until reach the 5th place, Tsunoda finishing with a brilliant 9th position on his first race for Alpha Tauri, we might have a great fight between Mercedes and Red Bull as well among the year, besides of a consistency Ferrari performance, possibly fighting with McLaren for the 3rd place of the Constructions Championship, let's hope for a great 2021 Season, it has just begun!
Valtteri Bottas got the fastest lap of the race, getting the extra 1 point (fastest lap award 2021).
