Formula-1 is on Portimão, Portugal for the Portuguese GP!
Formula-1 for the first time in Portimão
Yes, that's right, Formula-1 will be racing in Portugal today! The circus don't run there since 1996, when Jacques Villeneuve won the race for Williams.
This track brought a lot of good surprises, as it has up and downs, like a rollercoaster and even made Carlos Sainz compare it with the famous franchise movie "Fast and Furious", calling it as "Tokyo Drift". It is a nice nickname.
What to expect from Portuguese GP 2020?
Hamilton will start in the front for his 97th time in F1, with your team mate Bottas will be in second, followed by Verstappen in third. The trio locked up the 3 top places on the last races and there was no surprise yesterday during the Qualifying.
Best of the rest, Charles Leclerc will start on fourth, after his car received some upgrades from Ferrari, it seems that the Ferrari driver will have a good race. On the other hand, his team mate Sebastian Vettel will start in 15th, just behind George Russell, the German driver is clearly in another league at this moment, his focus should be completely on Aston Martin for the 2021 Season.
Sergio Perez will start in fifth, Alex Albon in sixth, the Thai driver is doing his best to guarantee his seat for the next season in Red Bull, in seventh will start Sainz, just ahead of his team mate Norris in eighth, Pierre Gasly in ninth and closing the top 10, we have Riccardo with his Renault.
I believe the race will be really interesting and we should see people spinning around, as the track has a lack of grip, the front battle will be interesting, the 3 first drivers were separated by just 252 milliseconds.
On the link below you can enjoy the Qualifying highlights.
Hope to see a great Portuguese race for this year of 2020!
